Sushi Rice - How to Make - Illustated Articles

   Sushi Rice

 


Ingredients
   (for 3 to 4 persons)

   Sushi Rice: 2 cups
   Water: 2 cups
   (if you use pot: 600 ml)
   Rice vinegar: 60 ml
   Sugar: 2 tablespoons
   Salt: 1 tea spoon

        
 


 
Wash the rice wellseveral times.

Transfer the rice to the rice cooker or cooking pot.
Add water and leave it about 30 to 60 minutes.

Prepare your sushi vinegar.
Mix vinegar, sugar and salt
together.

 
 
 
Start cooking!

Start cooking rice at hight heat
untill water starts boiling.
You must leave it covered.
Simmer at low heat allowing
the rice to steam for 15 minutes.
Remove your pot from the heat and let stand covered for another 15 minutes.
 
 
 
Transfer the hot rice into the mixing bowl. Mix the rice and sushi vinegar together.
Don't mash your rice!
Use fan to remove excess moisture and make rice shine as you are mixing the rice and vinegar.
